Smash is a show about producing a show about Marilyn Monroe. The story is an interesting premise, which gives the audience a glimpse into the drama in putting together a show. The show had wonderful dance and musical numbers. The show is filled with a lot of humor and snappy dialogue. This is a show you should see.

Boop! the musical on Broadway
Boop is the story of Betty Boop the cartoon character. Betty finds herself overwhelmed with her popularity and fame. She ends up in modern day NYC through a Time Machine that thrusts her into becoming a real life person. Her anonymity doesn’t last for long and Boop finds herself overwhelmed in real life. A bright spot is when she finds love with a jazz musician. Can this relationship survive this time exchange? The storyline was a bit silly, but the music was enjoyable.

John Fogerty's 80th Birthday - Beacon Theater NY 5/28
John Fogerty was a founding member of Credence Clearwater Revival and went on to have a long singular career. Fogerty now has his kids playing in his band. This accounts for all the new video and lighting tech that is used in their concerts. After years of legal battles, John has gained ownership of his songs. This will allow the kids to carry on with the collection of his songs. Watching this 80 year old it is hard to believe the energy and skill he brings to the stage. If this concert comes your way, go see it. I felt so upbeat from this experience, I hope my readers can feel this too.
