After I moved on from the lost phone debacle, my friend and I drove from Phoenix to Las Vegas. Along with us was my buddy’s 3Lb. Yorkie Pip. It may surprise one that dogs could stay in L.V. When I was looking for a hotel, I found that many hotels in Vegas are dog friendly. What brought us to Vegas, specifically Caesar’s, was to see Sting in concert. We were both celebrating a special birthday, and Sting was the gift we gave each other.
Caesar’s offers a top–notch slate of performers. However, the hotel seems to struggle to get ample employees. We drove into the hotel, nobody was clear on where we should park. We were even told that valet was cheaper than self–parking. Furthermore, we arrived at the indoor spot, where they were to valet the car. There were no bellhops at this location and, as a result, we had to carry our gear to registration. Armed with luggage, shopping bags, and dog paraphernalia, it was quite a stressful walk.
Once checked in, we again dragged our things up to our room. We settled the dog and headed out to Mr. Chow, a restaurant in the hotel. Mr. Chow is famous for great Chinese cuisine in New York. My friend explained to the waiter that she is allergic to shellfish. The waiter told us that almost every dish has oyster sauce on it. This declaration truly limited our choices. Unlike the restaurant in New York there were no Asian staff. Truly, the menu was foreign to the servers. The prices of the dishes were quite high. A small order of chicken was $58. At the end of the dinner, they asked me what I thought about our meal. “This was the worst Chinese food I ever had“, I retorted.
We lost some money in the slots on the way back to the room. Pip was well–behaved while we were gone. We decided that we would not walk outside on Las Vegas Blvd. The streets were so crowded we wouldn’t risk getting Pip harmed. We would spend Saturday at the pool.
A cabana started at $175, needless to say, we went for the free lounges. Pip loved laying in the shade under the chairs. Relaxing at the pool was a wonderful way to be well rested to see Sting at night. As earlier mentioned, the lack of employees was clear at the pool. Eventually, I got served an expensive drink, and found out there was no food at the pool. Another option is to order food through the hotel app. Translation, the delivery will take time, your order will be cold and the prices absorbent. Nonetheless, our pool experience was enjoyable.
Time to get ready for the show. On this night we were eating at The Old Homestead, also in Caesar’s. I was familiar with this restaurant, which is a landmark in Manhattan. This steakhouse has all the delectable choices one would expect at a top–rated restaurant. The meal was very good and my selected glass of Cabernet Sauvignon got me ready to see Sting.
